Euro 2020 Winner Betting Preview and Tips

Get the best Euro 2020 betting odds and enjoy European Championship football betting tips, with France, Germany and England among the favourites

Euro 2020 was swiftly postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic although international football returned with the recent Nations League matches and the teams will now start looking ahead to the tournament being played next summer where many people will now call it Euro 2021.

When Does Euro 2020 Take Place?

The 2020 European Championships have now been rearranged to take place in the summer of 2021, with the tournament running between 11 June 2021 – 11 July 2021. We have six groups of four teams who are in action and the top two teams will get automatic qualification to the last sixteen of the competition.

The remaining four spots will go to third-placed teams who perform the best during the group stage, with the teams then embarking on a knockout stage where we will see one team crowned champions.

Who Are the Euro 2020 Betting Favourites?

Surprisingly, bet365 make England favourites to win the European Championship and that’s despite the fact that the Three Lions have not won a major tournament since 1966, with Gareth Southgate tasked with steering the team to glory and there are quality players within the ranks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold can lay claim to being the best right-back in Europe, Harry Kane continues to be a goal-getter and there is plenty to like about the wide players, with Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford all boasting searing pace and a sharp eye for goal. Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood are also waiting in the wings.

However, we think that France and Belgium both make more appeal at 11/2 partially because they have proved themselves to be better sides recently. The French won the 2018 World Cup and Didier Deschamps will have Kylian Mbappe, Kingsley Coman and Antoine Griezmann operating for Les Bleus.

We also really like Belgium who boast two superstars in the form of Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne, while Romelu Lukaku has demonstrated his capacity to score goals in the colours of Manchester United and Inter Milan. They also have Thibaut Courtois in goal and Axel Witsel performs an important role in central midfield.

Germany, Netherlands and Spain are next in the betting, with Die Mannschaft falling flat on their face at the 2018 World Cup although Joachim Low has been kept on and still has a talented squad of young players, many of whom succeeded in the Champions League with Bayern Munich.

The Dutch are also viable contenders, with captain Virgil van Dijk a man mountain in central defence and there are also excellent players in the form of Donny van den Beek, Gini Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay, with Spain having become something of a forgotten team in international football although perhaps they’re not the force of old.

What Are the Best Bets for Euro 2020?

We think it’s time for Belgium to shine on a European stage and they were slightly unlucky to lose to France in the 2018 World Cup semi-final, with the Red Devils recently winning at Denmark in the Nations League and the fact that Hazard and De Bruyne are driving them forward is a massive bonus.

At a bigger price, let’s consider Portugal who will still have Cristiano Ronaldo in the ranks and a recent 4-1 win over Croatia in the Nations League suggests that they’re along the right track, with Andre Silva and Joao Felix also adding attacking quality.
