Premier League accumulator betting tips – Saturday 17 October

The latest Premier League accumulator features picks for the Everton v Liverpool and Manchester City v Arsenal football matches.

We’ve waved goodbye to another international break and can now focus on Game Week 5 in the Premier League, with four matches taking place on Saturday.

We’ve got the riveting prospect of a Merseyside derby along with a clash between Manchester City v Arsenal, while Chelsea v Southampton and Newcastle v Manchester United are other intriguing fixtures which allow us to put an accumulator together.

Here is Saturday’s bet365 Premier League accumulator:

Everton +0.5 @ 2.010
Chelsea -1 @ 1.820
Over 3.5 Goals in Manchester City v Arsenal
Newcastle +1 @ 1.675

The above Premier League accumulator currently pays at odds of 12.25 which means a fantastic return from a small stake if the above bet wins.

Why we think Everton can run Liverpool close

Everton can be backed at odds-against with half a goal advantage against their Merseyside rivals and it should be pointed out that:

The Toffees have won every match played so far
Liverpool’s last game saw them beaten 7-2 at Villa Park
Everton have the division’s leading scorer in Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Liverpool could only draw this fixture 0-0 last season

We see little downside in including Everton who have a decent chance of winning the game, especially as it comes after the international break and the opposition have had the majority of players operating for their country, while some have tested positive for COVID-19.

Why Chelsea can overcome an Asian Handicap v Saints

Chelsea thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 a fortnight ago and we think they can win by at least two goals when they clash with a Southampton team who have won their past two matches, although these were workmanlike performances against Burnley and West Brom.

Those two teams could realistically be relegated this season, with Frank Lampard having a squad bulging with international class at his disposal and Kai Havertz seems to be improving with the passing of every match. Timo Werner is due his first EPL goal and the acquisition of Edouard Mendy means that Chelsea look more robust in defence.

Why Man City v Arsenal could feature goals

Manchester City are certainly not what we’d describe as a ‘banker’ to win against the Gunners, with Pep Guardiola’s side having been turned over by Leicester at the Etihad Stadium before a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. They were beaten by Arsenal in last season’s FA Cup semi and could see the same thing happen again.

City do have the potential to score goals and the same applies to Arsenal who have found the net in all their matches to date and will look to counter-attack to good effect in this clash.

Why Newcastle are too big a price against Manchester United

Newcastle might not be totally convincing although we’re happy to take the Magpies with a +1 goal start against a Red Devils side who have lost two of their opening three games this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is favourite on the Sack Race betting market and the only match that the team have won in the Premier League was a fortunate victory over Brighton. Continue to oppose the Red Devils.
