Aston Villa v Leeds United betting tips – back Villans to continue 100% start

Aston Villa clash with Leeds United in the Premier League on Friday and we’re betting on the Villans to record their fifth successive win of the season.

Aston Villa could easily have been relegated from the Premier League last season, although the Midlands club weathered the storm and have now come out of the other side, with Dean Smith’s side sitting second after four straight wins in the English top flight.

The Villans have beaten Fulham, Sheffield United, Liverpool and Leicester City to almost guarantee that they won’t be scrapping against relegation during the 2020/21 campaign, although Smith is keeping his feet on the ground and hoping that the winning run continues.

Why We’re Backing Villa to Beat Leeds

It’s plausible that Leeds United would have been favourites to win this fixture before a ball had been kicked, although it’s the home side who are the shorter price after racking up a maximum twelve points so far and showing lots of signs that they can register a top-half finish this term.

For starters, Villa beat Liverpool 7-2 when they last played at home and they ran riot against the English champions who had no reply to the attacking menace of Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and Ollie Watkins. The trio could once again work in tandem to help their team continue the 100% start.

The defence isn’t looking too shabby either. Tyrone Mings could well be starting for England at Euro 2020 after some stellar performances for his club side and Ezra Konsa has grabbed his opportunity with both hands, while Emiliano Martinez looks an assured stopper who is among the best in the division right now.

Can Leeds Strike a Blow to the Villans?

It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Leeds United left with a victory of their own in this match and one suspects that the Aston Villa bubble will burst sooner rather than later, although Marcelo Bielsa’s side faded badly after a bright start against Wolves on Monday and don’t have an enormous amount of preparation time for this clash.

The goals were flying in for Leeds after racking up a total of seven against Liverpool and Fulham, although it has since been tougher to find the net and perhaps Patrick Bamford is being required to do too much in attack.

What Are the Best Bets for the Match?

We’re going to keep things fairly simple and bet on Aston Villa to continue their winning ways. There’s no reason to desert a confident side and we should remember that they have a year of Premier League football under their belt, while their opponents are still acclimatising to life in the top flight.

We’re also going to take a punt on Ollie Watkins to find the net after netting a hat-trick against Liverpool, while another Villa win and both teams to score looks a reasonable selection too.
