Leeds United v Leicester City tips – Elland Road clash could be low-scoring

The bookies reckon Leeds and Leicester could serve up goals, although we’re expecting a lower-scoring clash on Monday night between these two teams.

Leeds and Leicester are both sitting pretty after six rounds of Premier League matches, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side taking to the top flight like a duck to water and we can almost certainly rule them out of a scrap against relegation this season.

Bielsa’s team have ten points on the board already and the fact that they’ve faced Liverpool and Manchester City already and served it up against both of these teams illustrates that Leeds have taken little time to adjust to the level required.

Can Leeds Build on Win Over Aston Villa?

After losing 1-0 at home to Wolves, there was a concern that Leeds were struggling to build on that promising early season form, although the Yorkshire side bounced back against an Aston Villa side who were boasting a 100% record before being turned over by a 3-0 scoreline.

Patrick Bamford has been much-maligned throughout his career including some Leeds fans although the striker is flourishing in the Premier League and his hat-trick against the Villans was spectacular, especially the way in which he took his second and third goals.

However, Leeds are not necessarily a team to trust at shorter odds to win and they’ll face a Leicester City side who are fresh from a hard-working 1-0 victory at the Emirates.

Leicester Could be the Value Bet at Elland Road

Brendan Rodgers will have been immensely gratified by the way in which Leicester stuck to their task to win away to Arsenal, with the Foxes having been turned over at home to West Ham and Aston Villa before steadying the ship.

Jamie Vardy came off the bench to score the winner and will now start at Elland Road where he’ll cause problems for the Leeds defence, with Wesley Fofana a rock at the back and the teenager will look to get a handle on Patrick Bamford.

Rodgers might well deploy a similar blueprint to the one that worked well against the Gunners and Leeds are going to be wary of players like Vardy, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison who can punch on the counter.

What Are the Best Bets?

We think it’s worth going against the grain and backing Under 2.5 Goals in this game which means we can afford two goals or less to be scored, with both sides unlikely to want to concede the first goal considering that Leeds and Leicester can run away with things.

We’re also going to take a punt on Leicester claiming a 1-0 win. It’s clear that City have adjusted their game plan to keep things tighter after several high-scoring games which opened the season although we shouldn’t forget that the visitors have won at Manchester City this term.

BETTING TIPS
Under 2.5 Goals @ 11/10
Leicester to win 1-0 @ 10/1
