Atalanta v Liverpool betting tips – goals could be on the cards in Bergamo

We’re expecting a high-scoring Champions League clash at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia between Atalanta and Liverpool.

Two of the most exciting attacking teams in Europe will clash on Tuesday 3 November, with Atalanta having been one of the surprise packages of the 2019/20 Champions League and they reached the quarter final stage of the competition before being chinned late in the game by Paris Saint-Germain.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have been a breath of fresh air and look set to adopt an attacking strategy against a Liverpool side who have suffered from their fair share of injuries and will head to Bergamo missing a couple of key defensive players even if goalkeeper Alisson is back for the team.

Are Atalanta Big Value to Win at 12/5?

Atalanta are a team who love to attack and they opened up in the group stage with a 4-0 victory away to Midtjylland before having to come from behind to land a 2-2 draw against Ajax, where Duvan Zapata scored twice in the second half after the Dutch team had taken what looked to be a decisive lead.

Zapata has now scored three goals in his two Champions League games to date and we’re expecting La Dea to find the net against Liverpool which does suggest that 12/5 about Atalanta winning could be the best value considering that the Reds are not without their defensive struggles.

Domestic form has been a little ropey, with the team getting chinned 4-1 away to Napoli before a 3-1 defeat at home to Sampdoria, although the vast majority of their matches are high-scoring affairs.

What Are the Best Bets for Atalanta v Liverpool?

Liverpool will head to Bergamo without the injured Virgil van Dijk and it also appears that makeshift central defender Fabinho will be missing for several weeks after getting injured last week. Without the Brazilian, it could mean that we see Gini Wijnaldum potentially operate alongside Joe Gomez unless Jurgen Klopp continues with nineteen-year-old Rhys Williams in defence.

We do like the look of Over 3.5 Goals in the game considering that both teams regard attack as the best form of defence and you can effectively double your money if there are four goals or more scored in Bergamo, with some punters able to go for Over 4.5 Goals if they feel that at least five goals will be on the cards.

We do think this might be a game too far for Liverpool and would look to try and side with Atalanta on the Asian Handicap betting market where you can get decent odds about the home side with half a goal start.
