Manchester City might be sitting eleventh in the Premier League standings right now, although that hasn’t stopped the bookies making Pep Guardiola’s side as favourites to land the 2020/21 title this season.

City’s emphatic 5-0 win over Burnley means that they’re six points off the top of the table and they also have a game in hand over the majority of other teams, with the bookmakers expecting the champions of 2018 and 2019 to mount a serious challenge in a bid to regain their crown.

Unibet have 15/8 about Manchester City winning the title although they have hit a few bumps in the road this season and have fifteen points on the board from nine games played.

A Unibet spokesman told BetX.com: “City showed their true colours against Burnley and we think they’re the team to beat despite a few wobbles this season.

“They’re already through to the Champions League Last 16 and that means they can focus on racking up some wins on the domestic front.”

Can Liverpool Retain 2020/21 EPL Title?

Liverpool have had more than their fair share of bad luck when it comes to injuries this season and the bookies have pushed out their outright betting odds following a 1-1 draw against Brighton which saw the Seagulls carve out enough chances to win the game.

Jurgen Klopp is also trying to steer the Reds into the last sixteen stage of the Champions League and they’re now out to 2/1 with Unibet for the title, with Virgil van Dijk a long-time absentee although Trent Alexander-Arnold looks set to return and Jordan Henderson is back in contention.

Perhaps the current odds of 2/1 is a good opportunity for punters to treble their money, especially with the tantalising prospect of Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all potentially lining up for a deadly attack.

Chelsea and Tottenham Also in the EPL Title Race

It shouldn’t be forgotten that Tottenham Hotspur sit top of the Premier League table having earned twenty-one points from ten games played and they have also faced Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City this season, with a north London derby fast approaching.

Jose Mourinho has poured scorn on the idea that Spurs are title challengers although betting odds of 5/1 implies that the north London side have to be considered as a serious contender, with Harry Kane’s fitness fundamentally important.

As for Chelsea, they are looking really strong from a defensive point-of-view and Unibet have 5/1 about them winning the title under Frank Lampard, with Christian Pulisic recently returning to the squad and offering a strong threat from out wide.
