Will Bukayo Saka Win PFA Young Player of the Year?

Saka looks a great bet to scoop Premier League award after some bright performances for Arsenal in past few weeks?

Arsenal were in the doldrums a few weeks ago, although the north London side have picked up massively thanks to wins over Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom. These results have their fans dreaming of playing Champions League football again next season.

One of the reasons behind the Gunners’ resurgence is the performances of Bukayo Saka, with the nineteen-year-old having quickly become one of the team’s most important players despite being a relative youngster at this stage of his career.

Saka has been amongst the goals in recent weeks and has been making things happen for an Arsenal team who were badly in need of some inspiration, with many now wondering if the attacking midfielder can win the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Saka Now 8/1 to Win PFA Young Player of the Year

Bukayo Saka has recently been described as a £100 million player and he certainly has the potential to become an Arsenal legend, with the player having come through the youth ranks at the Emirates Stadium and it’s strange to think that he wasn’t even born when the north London side were enjoying their successes in the 1990’s.

Several bookies have a PFA Young Player of the Year betting market available and Saka is currently 8/1 to win this award which seems like a big price considering that the voting will be cast for this accolade in the next few weeks.

A few more bright performances are likely to catch the eye of his Premier League peers and we think that Saka’s price will only shorten as he aims to not only help Arsenal achieve a successful season but also put himself in the England picture for the rearranged Euro 2020.

Who Are the Other PFA Young Player Contenders?

Some might not regard Marcus Rashford as a young player anymore, although the Manchester United forward is still eligible to win and is no bigger than 11/2 with William Hill to win this PFA Award, with the England international having been highly acclaimed for also enabling millions of childrens to get free school dinners.

However, perhaps Phil Foden also stands a chance considering that the Manchester City midfielder is shining bright for Pep Guardiola’s team in recent weeks and it’s noticeable that some of the bookies have cut the odds on the midfielder winning this award.

The current favourite is Dominic Calvert-Lewin who had an excellent start to the season in an Everton shirt although the goals have subsequently dried up for the centre forward and perhaps there are more viable contenders.
