Premier League predictions – Tuesday 12 January

We’re looking ahead to three Premier League games taking place on Tuesday, including Manchester United’s trip to Turf Moor.

It’s going to be an exciting evening of Premier League football on Tuesday 12 January, with three top-flight encounters taking place and that includes the chance for Manchester United to go top of the Premier League table by avoiding defeat at Turf Moor.

Of course, the Red Devils will be going all out for victory in that Lancashire clash, while Sheffield United will be bidding to enjoy their first win of the Premier League campaign by beating Newcastle United.

We also have an intriguing encounter between Wolves and Everton at Molineux, with both sides aiming to finish in the top six this season and it’s the latter who are currently in a loftier position.

Sheffield United v Newcastle United, 6pm

It’s hard to get away from this being a low-scoring encounter despite Sheffield United’s 3-2 FA Cup win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday which possibly illustrated that they’re not much better than an average Championship side right now.

Newcastle managed to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw and might just have the edge although we’re expecting things to be tight and maybe a low-scoring draw is the way forward on this one.

PREDICTION: Sheffield United 1 Newcastle United 1

Burnley v Manchester United, 8.15pm

Burnley have admirably pulled themselves clear of trouble in the Premier League and effectively have a shot to nothing against a Manchester United side with firm title ambitions, with Sean Dyche’s side committed to keeping things tight and ceding possession to their opponents.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have a strong away record in the top-flight this season and we think they will patiently look to find a way past their opponents and record yet another win.

PREDICTION: Burnley 0 Manchester United 2

Wolves v Everton, 8.15pm

Everton might just have the edge at Molineux when the two teams meet for this clash, with the Toffees sitting seventh in the Premier League and only four points off the summit, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side having won five of their eight games on the road.

Wolves are stationed thirteenth in the Premier League table and ended a four-match winless run by beating Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Friday night, although they might find their Merseyside opponents a little too hot to handle in this one baby Isaac!

PREDICTION: Wolves 1 Everton 2
